What is Stanbic Contactless Cards?

Stanbic bank’s contactless cards is a new technology that offers you a fast,easy and secure way to pay for low value purchases

All you need to do is to simply tap your card on a contactless POS device at any merchants’ shop.No need to hand over your card for payments.

To know your debit or credit card is a contactless card, checkout for the symbol on the card.

How do you get a contactless card?

You can get a Stanbic Contactless card when you renew or replace your existing Stanbic card at the nearest branch of Stanbic Bank.

Your existing card is however valid. You can also use your contactless card at any merchant who has the Contactless Indicator displayed on their shops

When and how do you make contactless payment?

Your Stanbic contactless card is already enabled and ready for use after you received it from the bank. However, the contactless functionality needs to be activated.

You must first make a contact transaction, that is, a normal dip-and-PIN transaction at a merchant shop, before you will be able to tap
your card to make contactless payments.

Can you use contactless card for ordinary payment?

Yes. Your card can still be used when paying for items at merchant terminals that does not support contactless functionality. A normal dip-and-PIN transaction can be done.

What are Stanbic Insurance Solutions?

Stanbic insurance solutions are developed to protect what matters to customers at all cost. They are;Homeowners’ Insurance,Education Plan,Funeral Plan,Travel Insurance and Motor Insurance.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance covers specific expenses, losses and delays suffered while travelling abroad. You and your immediate family who travel with you will be covered for up to €30,000. This ensures that you enjoy your trip and don’t need to worry about how to pay any bills as a result of sudden ill health, lost luggage and flight delays

What you get under travel insurance?
  • This is multi-trip cover for a continuous period of 92 days for each trip
  • It pays expenses resulting from hospitalisation, emergency dental care, medical evacuation and repatriation of mortal remains if necessary
  • Help with legal defense, payment for delivery of medicines to you and advance of bail bond if needed.
  • Covers loss of baggage and ID documents, as well as cost of locating and forwarding your personal belongings and baggage
  • Compensation if your flight is delayed
    Cost depends on the countries you visit and the length of your trip (subject to a maximum of 92 consecutive days for each trip). They will tell you the cost of the cover after you have given them the details of your trip. For example, a 42-year old, on a 10-day trip to three Schengen countries will enjoy €30 000.00 cover for only GHS133
  • 24-hour assistance on a dedicated telephone number
How do you get it?
  • Visit your nearest branch with your travel itinerary and passport number
  • Hold an account with us, though non-customers are also eligible to purchase cover
  • Be under the age of 80 years
    The travel cover document is issued instantly

Funeral Plan

A FuneralPlan offers extensive cover to help you and your family with the costs associated with a funeral if any of your named beneficiary’s dies.Their FuneralPlan ensures your peace of mind, knowing that there is money to take care of funeral costs and related expenses. The Funeral Plan can be purchased by non-resident Ghanaians to cover the lives of their loved ones resident in Ghana.

What do you get under this insurance?
  • Your FuneralPlan pays out a lump sum immediately after a death in the family
  • You can cover yourself, your spouse and up to six children
  • You can also cover your parents, parents-in-law and extended family members
  • Five options are available based on benefit paid to the main member:Standard with GHS1,000 benefit,Prime with GHS2,000 benefit,Gold with GHS3,000 benefit,platinum with GHS5,000 benefit,Titanium with GHS10,000 benefit
  • No medical examination is needed.
  • The minimum age to take out a policy is 18 years and the maximum is 64 years
  • Extended family members up to the age of 64 years can be covered
  • Parents and parents-in-law up to the age of 74 years can be covered
How do you get it?
  • Have an account with us.
  • Be under the age of 65 years.
  • Visit your nearest branch and complete an application

Education Plan

A protection and investment plan to help you guarantee funds for payment of your child or ward’s education up to the highest level in the future. It provides an insurance cover on your target amount, so that your children get money for their education should you pass away or be permanently disabled before the plan matures.

You may surrender the policy at any time before maturity, though you will pay a penalty if the plan has run for less than the minimum three (3) years

What do you get it?
  • Your Education Plan pays out the target amount you choose immediately upon your death or permanent disablement
  • You can put down the names of up to six (6) children and the percentage share of the maturity benefit due them
  • You can plan for a period covering a minimum of 3 years to 18 years
  • Your target amount for which you are insured, may be from GHS1,000 up to GHS200,000
  • You may deposit any windfall funds into your plan to build up your investment quicker
  • No medical examination is needed.
  • The minimum age to take out a policy is 18 years and the maximum is 67 years

  • Visit your nearest branch and complete an application

Homeowners’ Insurance

It is an extensive insurance cover that replaces, repairs or reinstates your residential building and its contents after damage or loss caused by burglary, fire or other perils.

What do you get?
  • Cover for damage to your property or home contents resulting from fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, riots and civil commotion, storm and flood, vandalism and other malicious acts, subsidence, heave or landslip of the site on which your building stands, or collision and impact from moving objects striking the building
  • You may cover the contents of your home against theft, accidental breakage of mirrors and fixed glass, furniture and paintings
  • Covers the cost of accommodation and storage while you can’t live in your home as a result of damage
  • Covers you in cases where you are liable for damage suffered by third parties
  • Competitive rates, for example, for a property valued at GHS150 000, you will pay a premium of not more than GHS25 a month

Motor Insurance

You can get all your private Motor Insurance from us whether it is third party only cover, third party, fire and theft cover, comprehensive or enhanced comprehensive called the Executive motor insurance cover.

What do you get?
  • Cover for your vehicles whether third party only (T/P), third party fire and theft (TPFT) comprehensive or Executive
  • With an Executive policy, you are covered for loss of use while your insured vehicle is being repaired; you do not lose your no-claim discounts and enjoy higher limits for personal accident and third-party property damage claims
  • Convenience of being able to sign-up at a branch near you
  • Help with claims and submitting your documents
  • Competitive rates and discounts if you take out cover other than third party
  • You can choose to pay your premiums monthly or annually
  • At renewal you just pick up a motor sticker and we process your premium payments
