Biography of Dancegod Lloyd
After completing Senior High School at Presec, Legon, he made his aspirations of becoming a dancer known to his parents. However, his parents were obviously not happy with the choice their son had decided to make.
In an interview, Lloyd recounts how he had to leave his parents’ home to reside in a friend’s home in order to make his dream come true. He even said that there were times he spent the nights on the streets.

Dancegod Lloyd or originally known as Laud Anoo Konadu had his basic education at Solidarity International School. He also attended Presbytarian Boys Senior High School (Presec), Legon for his secondary cycle education.
Dancegod’s Career Profile
Dancegod Lloyd’s career begun when he started uploading dance videos of himself on Instagram. He was known for making videos at serene public places and locations. Some of his early videos were also choreographies of himself and his colleagues. He slowly garnered views and acclamations for his dance videos.
His followers on Instagram increased as his numbers with regards to views, likes and tweets also increased. By 2021, he had garnered over 1 million followers on Instagram and thousands of followers and views on Twitter. As of today, he has 1.8M followers on Instagram and 58.8K followers on Twitter.
In 2017, he and his colleague Afrobeast established a charitable group called Dance With Purpose Academy (DWP) to train youthful and talented dancers. The academy boasts of a number of talented dancers in the industry.
In 2020, during the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic, DWP academy posted dance videos online which amassed many views and positive reviews on social media. Many active internet users also streamed some of their subsequent dance videos.
With this, the academy took the initiative of organising online classes for interested people which came out successful; many people subscribed to the online dance classes. Dancegod Lloyd and Afrobeast are both dance instructors at DWP Academy.
Dancegod Lloyd is the originator of a number of viral dances such as Shoo, Reverse shaku, Agbelemi, Akiti and Swerve. He is also a musician and has six songs to his credit. This includes ‘Sika’ featuring rapper Medikal, ‘Corner Der’, ‘Full Magazine’, ‘Agbelemi’, ‘Eheati’ and ‘Menti’.
He worked as a dance instructor for Patoranking in the music video of the track ‘See brother’. He has also appeared in a number of music videos for various artistes including Patoranking, Kwamz and Flava and so on.
In 2021, Dancegod Lloyd was featured in the music video for the track “Already” of ‘The Black is King’ project or film by American R&B singer Beyoncé. In 2022, He earned a nomination at AFRIMMA for Best Dancer award.
