Admission Requirements For University of Environment And Sustainable Development
Admission requirements at the university are as follows;
WASSCE Applicants
Student applying to an undergraduate programme with WASSCE certificates must have
- At least a credit in core English, core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies
- At least a credit in three elective subjects which should include at least one of the following: Economics; Geography; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry Physics; Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Crop Science
- And all selected courses must at least surmount to an aggregate score of 36 or better
A LEVEL Certificate Applicants
Student applying to the University of Environment and Sustainable Development an A Level certificate must;
- Have Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better)
- Besides, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects (or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics and a science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for science students)
- Must have pass in General Paper must also be obtained
HND/Diploma Applicants
Student applying with HND or Diploma to the University Of Environment and Sustainable Development with;
- HND Second Class (Upper and Lower Division) holders with relevant background may be admitted in Third Year of the programme after passing an interview
- HND First Class may be considered for admission without an interview
- Two year Diploma (Second Class) holders may be admitted into second year
- Three years Diploma with distinction may be admitted into third year of the programme without interview
SSSCE/GBCE
Student holding SSSCE or GBCE on applying to the university must have;
- Credit Passes in three (3) core English, core Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies
- Credit passes in any three elective subjects which should include at least one of the following: Economics; Geography; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry, Physics and General Agriculture with aggregate score of 24 or better
Foreign Students
Foreign students may be admitted at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development on the basis of
- Qualification from their home country for which the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) shall determine equivalence
- Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries
